I AM WRITING TO YOU TO EULOGIZE THE EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE OF YOR GUIDE NAMED BARBORA, DURING OUR TOUR TROUGHT THE JEWISH QUARTER.
KNOWLEDGE, SYMPATHY AND FRIENDSHIP MADE THE TOUR ON 30TH DECEMBER UNFORGETTABLE FOR US.

Dear Jitka,
My son has arrived back in Toronto. He and the few friends that attended the tour to Terezin, found it very moving and very interesting.
Please extend our deepest appreciation to Barbra for guiding this group of young men through such an important day.
I am only disappointed that I did not have more support from the school's teachers in order to encourage more students to attend.
We are hearing very interesting and in depth stories from Alex and his friends.

I hope to meet you in person, in the near future.

Dear Sylvie,
Sorry it didn't work out to be with you personally today.  But in light of the freezing cold weather (and even a little snow) I think we made the
right decision about going in the morning, when it was not so gloomy.  We did want to let you know how excellent, delightful and informative Barbara was!  She is mature beyond her years. We congratulate you on having such excellent guides, as we also enjoyed Helena on Friday.   Of course, our emotional experience  at Terizenstadt  matched the weather perfectly.  Still hard to imagine that these atrocities took place, even though we intellectually know that they did.  You Czechs are a hardly people to have survived Nazism and Communism.  Sorry, to have disturbed you on your cell phone yesterday, but we had just seen bloody faces on the TV coming from the demonstration and wanted to make certain that you had not been harmed.  Your assistant was quite helpful in calling us back and rearranging our plans.  Please thank her for us.  Again, it was a pleasure meeting you the other day and we were sorry it didn't work out for today.  Sincerely, Bryn and Arnold C.
p.s.  Last evening we went to the Black Light Fantastika performance of Alice and Wonderful and were quite shocked at one scene which took place in a Jewish cemetery with gigantic ghosts in white sheets with huge masks that had stereotypical features of Jews with hooked noses, beards and peyas.  We interpreted this to be anti-semitic and wonder what you think and if you know about this.
Please let me know.  Bryn

Dear Marta,
My husband and I were on the tour to Terezin  last Sunday with Pavel Stransky as our guide.
Please convey to him how meaningful the tour was especially because of him and please thank him for us.
Also, please tell him that I read his book the same day as soon as I got back to my hotel. It was very powerful and I am glad to have read it.
It was an honor to have Pavel as our guide and we wish him many years of good health, good fortune and success.
Thank you for making this possible.
Sincerely,
Debbie R.

Dear Ms Marta:
please accept my apologies for not writing to you sooner. We arrived from our trip from Prague  without any problems and want to thank you and all of your staff for the most wonderful tours we ever had in a very long time.
Your agency is very highly efficient and well organized.
We were very like to have in our tour to Terezin,  we had a guide by the by the name of Ron. A  very knowledgeable deeply well informed historian of the jewish people, that had detailed information about the german conquest and massive killing. We all became quite emotional as the tour progressed. Enjoyed every single minute of it.
In the second tour visited the jewish ghetto and synagogues with a young, pleasant, very enthusiastic tour guide, full of energy and deeply motivated to rely to all of us as much history as possible and indeed she was quite successful. Unfortunately do not remember her name at this time.
The third tour was a private one, with another wonderful tour guide who gave us lots of detail information  and who was also very knowledgeable of the history and tradition of the many places we visited. We do not know his name either, but related to us his experiences through the Holocaust and german invasion.
To your and to your company our deep appreciation for making our stay in Prague so spectacularly and unforgettable. Congratulations again to a job well done.
thanks again Nora and Armand

Barbora Haskovcova was our guide last week to Terezin and she was outstanding not only in her knowledge but her presentation of so much information. We very much appreciated her passion for her work and the many details she made us aware of.

Dear Jitka,

We had a fabulous (and of course incredible) tour to Terezín yesterday. Barbora was a terrific guide with a lot of knowledge an enthusiasm. She gave much of herself during the day, so that the awful story came closer to the student. Send her a lot of regards from us.
Best regards from
Siv F.

Hello Marta

It was lovely to meet you in person on Sunday before our tour to Terezin.  I wanted to write to let you and Sylvie Wittmann know how much my mother and I enjoyed both our tours during our visit to Prague.  On both tours, Bara Haskovcova was our guide.  She is so knowledgeable, and we learned so much from her.  Both tours were memorable and enhanced by Barbora's personal connection to the subject.  We greatly appreciated her sharing her family's history with us.  Wittmann Tours is lucky to have someone of her caliber and knowledge leading tours; she is an excellent ambassador for your company.

Hi Sylvie,

We have just returned from our trip this afternoon.  We had a really interesting time in Budapest with one of Eva’s guides by the name of Alex who showed us around and provided us with a lot of information about things we didn’t really know about before.  Our whole experience, starting with our time with you in Prague was so wonderful and meaningful that we will never forget it.  Thank you for your insight, knowledge and sincerity in the important work that you do.

Best wishes from Stan, Lisa and myself,

Ruth S.

October 19, 2007

You probably don't remember us, but Carol and I  met you two weeks ago on our tour of Terezin(in the synagogue) and in one of the synagogues in Prague.  I am writing to tell you 2 things:

first, Bela was probably the best guide we have had any place.  Not only is she articulate, but she is extremely knowledgeable and just great to be with;

and second, I am one of the hiring partners of an international law firm(Latham&Watkins) and although we don't have any offices in the Czech Republic, if she is interested in an international firm, I'd be more than happy to help her obtain a position with one. Please let her know and if she wants, she can contact me directly.  By the way although you weren't our guide, just from the little we overheard of your discussions with your guests, we were disappointed that we didn't get to spend time with you.  There is always the next time.  Take care.

Richard L. C.

We would like to thank Wittman Tours and Martina for our day trip to Auschwitz in September. It was an unforgettably moving, stunning experience. Martina was passionate, patient and brilliant as our guide.

Thank you,

Hi Sylvie,

My wife, daughter and I had the pleasure of spending the day with  Barbara on a tour of Theresenstat on Aug 17. She was incredible. ...... I was so impressed with her, it is my pleasure to aid her education on the holocaust in this small way.

Sincerely, Michael F.

September 25, 2007

Dear Sylvie,

First I want again express our thanks for a most wonderful tour. We thoroughly appreciate your knowledge, Prague's Jewish history, and the Quarter itself, with its most wonderful Synagogues. Sylvie, you taught us many things. One had to do with the actual historical significance of Hanuka. The thing is, I forgot what you said about Hanuka. Could you please, by return e-mail, repeat what you said about the true origin of this holiday? Or, at least, tell us where we can look up this information? TIA, as they say: Thanks in Advance. And we wish you a most healthy, happy, and lucky New Year.

David

September 22, 2007

Dear Jitka Davidova,

I took the Wittman tour of the Jewish Quarter in Prague and I just wished to say how much it enriched my trip. If I had not visited the Jewish Museum and the Quarter, I would have missed learning about a crucialelement of Prague's history and culture. And if I had not taken the tour, I would have learned less and seen less. I especially want to praise the guide for the tour I was on. Her name was Barbora Hurshakova? (I probably have the last name wrong, but she was definitely named Barbora). She was knowledgeable and passionate in her interest in Jewish history and culture. And she was also very articulate and able to communicate her knowledge and passion brilliantly. I am a lecturer in English history myself and I precict that Barbora has a brilliant future as a teacher or a curator if her interests lead her in those directions. Anyway, I hope that you will pass my thanks on to Barbora for adding so much to my trip and that you will also accept my thanks for running such a brilliant tour.

Best wishes, Tom F.

Hi Sylvia and Marta and the staff at Wittmann Tours!

Sorry this note is late! Just wanted to send our Thanks to you for two fabulous tours that we took with your company - the Terezin tour with Mr Stransky and the walking tour of Prague with Ron. What can we say about Pavel - what a gem you have with him guiding people back to Terezin. He is a wonderful individual and so special- it truly was an honor to meet him and spend time with him and learn through his experiences. His ability to share such personal details of his and his families' lives made the day memorable and one not to be forgotten. Then we had a walking tour of Prague with Ron. He is a fountain of knowledge- just what we needed. He took us to all the significant sights and was able to pass on years of history in a very abbreviated but relevant way. We learned so much about your beautiful city of Prague! G-d willing, some day we will be back! We will recommend your company to friends. Please send Pavel and Ron our regards and best wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year as to you and all your staff!

All the best,

Josie and Gerry R. Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Sylvia

I want to thank you so much for allowing Pavel to be our tour guide for Theresienstadt. I gained so much more insight into what transpired in this horrendous event in our history that killed so many innocent and gifted people. I am going back to the states and will finish my quilt and forward pictures of it when it is complete. Thank you so much again and looking forward to seeing more camps with your tour services in the future.

Thank you again! Jody A.

Dear Sylvie,

My name is Alex Strum, I am 60 years old and I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I and my wife were last week on two of your tours in Prague: The Jewish Quarter and Terezin. I am very happy to tell you that both tours were excelent mainly due to the two outstanding guides we were lucky to have; Amalka and Pavel. The knowledge and interest Amalka demonstrated during all the tour was really impressing. Being with Pavel in Terezin was an experience that I will certainly not forget so soon. This is something that every Jew should attend at least once in his life time. Please convey to both of them my sincere appreciation for what they have provided to us.

Thank you again and congratulations,
Alex S.

This email is long overdue, but I wanted to send a message about our tour with your company in June. My husband and I traveled for five weeks throughout Europe and our morning with Barbora was the highlight of our tripBarbora is such a bright, passionate, knowledgable tour guide.  Thank you for providing these tours of the Jewish Quarter.  My husband and I learned so much and wanted to express our gratitude.

Please send our best to Barbora.

Take care,

Deborah

Compliments to Ron Hoffberg

Rabbi Hoffberg led us on two wonderful Wittmann tours last week - Prague Jewish Quarter and Terezin. He made our stay truly memorable. We enjoyed the opportunity to learn from his knowledge of the Jewish history of the Czech Republic.  We will certainly recommend Wittmann Tours to anyone who is travelling to Prague.

August 15, 2007

Dear Sylvie,

We are now back in Atlanta after a most memorable trip to Eastern Europe and we would like to thank you for making our visit to Prague and Auschwitz so special. Martina was a most knowledgeable, enthusiastic and experienced tour guide and we really appreciated the two days we spent with her. We also enjoyed the day with your guide who took us to the Jewish Museum. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and informative and we really enjoyed the day with him.

Please convey our best wishes to Martina and we wish you all the very best for the future. Of course, we shall highly recommend your company to anyone visiting Prague and Auschwitz in the future.

Many thanks and regards

HILTON AND GAIL N.

Dear Wittman Tours, I took the Terezin tour on Wednesday 1 August, and I wanted to let you know that Nathan was an excellent guide. .........

In the meantime, I just wanted you to tell you about Nathan (he may remember me as the man with the cane that day's trip.) By the way, he needs a new picture on your web site -- he no longer has his dreadlocks! :-)

Dear Sylvie,

It has been almost three weeks since our wonderful stay in Prague. I just want to thank you and tell you how much you enhanced our visit. We were very impressed not only with your knowledge of Judaism in the Czech Republic but also of your knowledge of Judaism in general. Things that we American Jews take for granted or even may not think about are so much part of your every day life. You opened our eyes to many of those things.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge with us. It was so good for us to see for ourselves that Judaism is alive and well in Europe: Jewish schools, new synagogues and restorations of old ones, kosher restaurants, etc.

Best wishes and L'Shanah Tova,

Sandy R.

July 30, 2007

Just got back from our vacation and wanted to thank you for the wonderful tours you arranged for us. We took the Lidice and Terezin tour with Martina who was wonderful and very informative. We also took the walking tour of the Jewish Quarter with Velo who added her wonderful personality into this very informative tour.

Again, thank you. Meryl H.

Dear Sylvie:

First I wanted to say thank you for doing such a fantastic job with my group tour on June 22.  Everyone loved your passion and knowledge. Though I had been to Prague and the Jewish Quarter before, I learned so much just listening to you and my husband was ecstatic.  Everyone in the group commented on what a great wealth of information you possess and my gentile clients loved the way you related some of the history to the church....

Fond regards, Stephanie T.

July 16, 2007

Hi Sylvie,

On July 4-July 8 you provided the Pulvers (David & Carol) and the Jaffes (Marty & Dee) with guides, including yourself, during our stay in Prague. You and your guides were superb and greatly enhanced our experience. Prague was the last stop on our Jewish Heritage trip through Central Europe (you corrected me when I said Eastern Europe) which included stops in Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest and finally in Prague. This was a fantastic trip with excellent guides in each city, none better than you and your guides. You looked after us from the time we landed in Prague until the time we departed back to the US. For this, we are very appreciative and thank you very much. We will be sure to recommend you to any of our family and friends that may be traveling to Prague in the future. Keep in touch.

Best, David

July 1, 2007

Please accept my compliments. Our tour was really a wonderful experience, definitely the high point of our visit to Prague.  Our guide (Malka?) was engaging, knowledgeable and obviously deeply committed.  The group dynamic added to the pleasure of the experience.  I will recommend your agency and this tour to anyone who is visiting Prague.

We just returned from Prague and had two wonderful tous with Marina Kaderova and Amalie Nemcova. Both guides were enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and articulate. What a treat!

June 5, 2007

Dear Marta,

I wanted to let you know what a great time I and my colleagues in the San Francisco Symphony had on our tour to the Jewish Quarter last week. We all appreciated the knowledge, insight and wry sense of humor of our guide Barbara (a fine name too!) Though the group was very large and unwieldy, she made the best of it and by the end of the tour she won over the entire group, including the few who were unhappy about the size. Hearing the personal stories of her and her friend who joined us to help keep the group together made the history much more present and meaningful, especially hearing how much Jewish identity was lost after the Holocaust during the Communist rule. I also enjoyed Martina on the Terezin tour, with her incredible store of information about the historical details and cultural context of what we were seeing. She graciously agreed to alter her planned itinerary to accommodate my request (echoed by the others in the group) to see the rooms that centered on the musicians and concerts that were performed in the camp. It was a haunting and poignant experience I will never forget. Our concerts at the Prague Spring Festival were very successful, so hopefully we'll be back again and I'll take advantage of your other tours!

Thanks again,

Barbara B.

 April 6, 2007

Dear Ms. Wittmann,

I wanted to let you know how much my family and I enjoyed our tour of the Jewish Quarter last Sunday, April 1.  (10:30 a.m.)  Our tour guide was Marketa and she was wonderful.  Her explanations encompassed so much history of Prague; the whole tour was an interesting and learning experience.

I will highly recommend your tours to others; it was the highlight of our four days in Prague.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Jeanette Z.
