DRESDEN

Prior to WW II known as “Florence on Elbe“, it suffered huge damages in the Allied Forces’ bombardment at the end of the war. Among the sites we visit is one of Europe’s best art collections in the beautiful chateau of Zwinger. The tour also includes a visit to the former Jewish ghetto, the residents of which voluntarily asserted their Jewish nationality in face of the rise to power of the Nazi party in the 1930s. A new synagogue and Jewish cultural center were erected on the site of the 1838 synagogue that was destroyed on Kristallnacht in 1938.

Departure at 8:00 a.m.
